The police have seized gold ingots from a strongbox owned by the former head of the State Material Reserves Administration Kajetán K., the aktuality.sk news outlet reported on Wednesday, with Police Corps spokesman Michal Slivka confirming this later. Slivka added that the National Crime Agency had seized 20 gold ingots weighing 250 grams each. However, he refused to provide any more details due to the ongoing investigation. "I find it surprising that the head of the statutory body for the state reserves keeps reserves at home to such an extent," Justice Minister Maria Kolíkova (For the People) said on Wednesday. Opinions among the other government members on the police find vary. Kajetán K. was charged with bribery and money laundering in April this year. He is being prosecuted in custody.
