A group of 20 Ukrainians who took part in the protests against the Government in Kiev, is set to arrive to a rehabilitation facility at Zemplinska Sirava Lake in Eastern Slovakia on Tuesday. It consists of inhabitants of Transcarpathia, which is adjacent to Slovakia, and from 1919 to 1938 was part of Czechoslovakia.
“They are mostly young people who were only slightly injured or didn't sustain direct injuries, but instead were subjected to enormous psychological pressure. Several of them inhaled chemical fumes, some were exposed to low temperatures for long periods, or have some hearing problems caused by the explosions of grenades”, announced the Slovak Foreign Ministry. This is already the second group of Ukrainians to arrive at this facility. The rehabilitation programme is part of the assistance offered by Slovakia to Ukraine.
