New evidence in Kuciak murder trial

The trial of those accused of ordering and carrying out the murder of journalist Jan Kuciak resumed on Wednesday at the Specialised Criminal Court in Pezinok (Bratislava region), with judge Ruzena Sabova admitting new items of evidence for the proceedings. These include messages from telecommunications operators and banks, and the defendants' car registration card numbers. Regarding the messages from telecommunications operators, Sabova stated that they are meant to supplement the testimony of IT criminal specialist Dusan Mikulaj, who has testified at the trial several times. His most recent testimony concerned the movements of the defendants' mobile phones, which he reconstructed based on messages from mobile service providers. At that time, Mikulaj explained that several objections made by defendant Marian K. can be answered by a particular telecommunications operator. With regard to the messages from banks and other items such as the defendants' car registration card numbers, Sabova stated that the court required them in order to verify the defendants' assets.
