As of Tuesday, people living in the Czech Republic and Hungary will be allowed to come to Slovakia for 48 hours freely, Prime Minister Igor Matovic announced after meeting with the epidemiologist team on Monday. He also informed about the loosening of other restrictive measures taken in Slovakia due to the state of emergency. Last week, former Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini called on his successor Matovic to lift the state of emergency and the ban on gathering. Chief Hygienist Jan Mikas said in an interview for the HN daily that it could be lifted, but that the situation will be extraordinary as the pandemic continues. The team recommends a further extensive relaxation of measures from Wednesday. More in today's Topical issue after the news.
