Trial with far right party leader Kotleba continues

The trial of Marian Kotleba, leader of the far right opposition People's Party Our Slovakia, who stands accused of handing out cheques to three poor families with an amount infused with neo-Nazi symbolism, resumed on Thursday morning. At the trial, Kotleba once again argued that both the prosecutor and the investigator are biased. No witnesses or experts have been summoned for this session, as the court only intends to read out documents. According to them, six members of the far right party, Milan Mazurek, Peter Krupa, Rastislav Schlosar (all three are also MPs), Jan Kecskes, Stanislav Drobný and MEP Milan Uhrík, refused to provide testimony at the trial.

The most recent session had to be adjourned as Kotleba excused himself from the proceedings, stating that duty had called him to Parliament due to the coronavirus situation, and he did not give the court permission to carry out proceedings in his absence.
