On Monday, Prime Minister Igor Matovič invited the owners of gyms for talks at the Government Office after they abandoned their original plan to block the busy D1 motorway leading to Bratislava, eventually "only protesting by slow driving". Matovič also thanked them for "not politicising a purely hygienic issue". On Sunday evening, the PM said that if the gym owners went ahead with their plan to block the motorway, he would draw up a legislative proposal to make such a move a crime. The Government last week refused to open gyms as part of the fourth phase of easing the coronavirus lockdown, with Health Minister Marek Krajčí stating that people "hyperventilate" there and the infection could thus be easily spread.
