Most young Slovaks happy with life during COVID-19 pandemic

Most young people in Slovakia seem to be happy with their lives during the coronavirus pandemic, even though more than two thirds are seriously afraid of its economic effects, according to a survey carried out by the 2Muse agency on behalf of the Slovak Youth Council (RmS) and Open Society Fund. The survey was carried out on a sample of 1,000 respondents aged 15-29, said Alexandra Virostkova from RmS on Thursday.

"The feeling of contentment is closely related to health, emotional experience, the existence of a support network and the perceived threat from the novel coronavirus pandemic. Those who are less content also feel a higher degree of danger," said social scientist Veronika Fishbone Vlckova from RmS, adding that the government's policies should take disabled or socially-challenged young people into special consideration.
