The Slovak Government will place a particular emphasis on European agenda, support a more active approach towards it via individual ministries and firm up cooperation with European institutions, including the European Parliament. According to the head of Slovak diplomacy, Ivan Korčok, the "European Parliament will play the role of key institution not only during the process of the EU's economic recovery and the passing of relevant legislation, but also in all fundamental issues concerning the future course of the EU - from the completion of the common market, the fight against climate change to post-Brexit ties." Korčok stated this after meeting a group of Slovak MEPs on Wednesday. In this context, Korčok encouraged them to actively participate in the Conference on the Future of Europe. "The EU is the most fundamental living space for Slovakia, European policies form part of domestic policies and the effective set-up of cooperation with MEPs must reflect that fact," accentuated the minister.
