They will need a work certificate and a negative RT-PCR test for COVID-19 not older than 96 hours. The exemption also includes people living in the same household with the so-called pendlers with permanent residence in areas close to Slovak borders.
Primary, secondary school pupils and full-time university students under the age of 26 with permanent or temporary residence in the Slovak Republic, who participate in trainings as members of a sports club in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary or Austria are also excluded from mandatory isolation. They need an appropriate confirmation, for example on membership of a sports club. One accompanying person also has an exemption from quarantine.
Slovaks providing urgent care in a neighbouring state to close family members who are unable to take care of themselves are another excluded group. They will need proof in the form of a certificate of urgent care from a doctor of the close family member and a declaration of the family relationship. Documents must be translated into Slovak, except for documents in the Czech language. If the stay exceeds 24 hours, upon entering the territory of the Slovak Republic, a confirmation of a negative test for COVID-19, which is not older than 96 hours, must be submitted. The same rules apply for people living in a neighbouring country, taking care of a family member in Slovakia.
Moreover, exceptions also apply to Slovak citizens who maintain land in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria or Poland within a distance of ten kilometres from the state border. At the border, they need a trustworthy document in Slovak such as a property deed or lease agreement for agricultural land. These people are obliged to monitor their health and contact a doctor in case of any symptoms of respiratory disease.
