Slovakia to take out €300 million loan

Slovakia will borrow €300 million from the Council of Europe Development Bank, after the Slovak Government approved a draft of agreement on the loan. The money should be used for tackling the problems stemming from the current crisis caused by the spread of the new coronavirus. In particular, it should finance expenses in these fields - health care, support for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises to cover payments or partial coverage of wages, as well as financing the area of support for public service companies. According to the Slovak Finance Ministry, the signing of the draft loan agreement will not affect the increase in public administration debt.
