Parliament voted on not acknowledging the annual report of the Public Ombudswoman Mária Patakyová. Her report on Wednesday in Parliament was also attended by the Slovak president Zuzana Čaputová, who expressed hope that public officials would pay closer attention to the ombudswoman's reports, as they identify flaws and shortcomings in the sphere of human rights that should be redressed. However, the Ombudswoman's activities were critiqued by conservative MPs as well as by far-right deputies, who did not like the fact that she defended the availability of abortions and supported the rights of LGBTI people. The parliament's gesture of not acknowledging the report will not affect the functioning of the Ombudsman's office in any way.
