Two major Slovak construction companies Doprastav and Vahostav are set to end up in restructuring within a few weeks, Aktuality.sk news web site has reported.
The Slovak media have been reporting on the two companies having problems settling their liabilities. As the article claims, this information has been confirmed by two mutually independent sources that are close to the companies. Vahostav has denied the information, Doprastav hasn’t provided any comments. Transport and Economy Institute director Ondrej Matej said that he’s heard about the planned restructuring, but he still views the information as not 100-percent verified. He pointed out that if the information is true, it may set off a chain reaction, as suppliers may end up receiving only around 30-35 percent of their claims. Both companies have been in the red since 2011.
