Slovakia continues to support the integration ambitions of the Western Balkans region as well as the reform efforts of its individual partners. In his speech at Wednesday's EU-Western Balkans video summit, Slovak Prime Minister Igor Matovič emphasised in particular that "we're ready to support our partners in their efforts, but we'll also need their help in order to make the concerns of certain member states disappear". The EU leaders also discussed, among other things, continuing cooperation in areas such as security and combating terrorism, organised crime, corruption and illegal migration. They stressed that the partners in the region needed to step up reforms, especially in the area of the rule of law, in order to speed up the integration process.
