Transport Minister Andrej Doležal (We Are Family nominee) has announced that free train travel for seniors will not be cancelled. He justified this decision by the favourable development of the coronavirus pandemic in Slovakia and the gradual relaxation of measures against the spread of the disease. The ministry confirmed on Wednesday that it was currently working on a plan to resume inland passenger train services, limited from mid-March as part of measures against the spread of the coronavirus disease. The fast intercity trains are not scheduled to resume operation as yet.
