Entrepreneurs fearing bankruptcy can ask for temporary state protection

Entrepreneurs in Slovakia will be able to ask the state for temporary protection from bankruptcy, property seizure and similar issues due to a significant loss of income related to the coronavirus outbreak, which is strongly affecting their operations. This stems from a law approved in parliament on Wednesday. The law, however, does not concern those who had been in trouble also before the pandemic. People, who rent a house, flat or an office space will be also temporarily protected in the event of a delay in rent and may defer rent payments for up to 3 months. However, they must have a reason related to the new coronavirus pandemic.
