Slovaks working in industry produced the highest output ever over the past three months of last year. According to the latest data, the labour productivity in Slovakia hit an all-time maximum in the fourth quarter of 2013.
The growth was the second highest in the EU and with 3.5 percent Slovakia landed closely behind leading Latvia. In spite of these figures, real wages of many Slovaks employed in industry do not reach even the pre-crisis level. Trade unions are planning to push for much better conditions, even at the cost of protests and actions exerting pressure on employers.
