International organizations cost Slovakia around 49 million euro

The Slovak Republic is a member of 108 international organizations, which according to the report by the Slovak Foreign affairs ministry costs each year tens millions of euro on membership fees. In 2013, altogether the membership fees to the different international organizations were approximately €49 million, while the year before it was around €44 million.

The most expensive memberships are in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, United Nations and the International Visegrad Fund. Moreover, Slovakia pays also the voluntary memberships in organizations such as the International Seabed Authority or the International Organization of the Francophonie.
