Primary schools to use written feedback

On Monday, the head of the State Teaching Institute (SPU), Miroslava Hapalová, announced that primary schools will stop giving graded evaluation of pupils as of Monday, explaining that she wants teachers to evaluate pupils with written feedback instead. Under usual conditions, pupils are evaluated with grades on a scale from one to five, with grade one being the best possible. On Sunday, Education Minister Branislav Gröhling ensured that the school year will not be repeated.
