As of April 4, 75 years have passed since Slovak Capital of Bratislava was liberated from Nazi occupation. In the course of the battle for the city, 1,742 Soviet soldiers, 470 German and Hungarian soldiers and 121 civilians lost their lives. Many buildings were destroyed or damaged, however the damages in Bratislava were not as significant as in other cities. During WWII, Slovakia was a puppet Nazi state.
