Kia Motors Slovakia is set to resume car production at its plant in Teplička nad Váhom as of Monday 6 April, the company has announced on its website. Production will be resumed under strict preventive hygiene measures and in line with the recommendations of the central Crisis Management Team and the Regional Public Health Office. "We'll work according to a standard three-shift schedule until Thursday, 9 April. After Easter we'll switch to two shifts - morning and afternoon," stated the company.
Kia Motors Slovakia is the only production plant run by Kia Motors Corporation in Europe. It was built in 2004-06, and production of cars and car engines was launched in December 2006. Kia currently employs over 3,800 people in Slovakia.
