Andrea Bučková will become the new Government proxy for Roma communities as of 1 April, with the Government approving the ouster of current Proxy Abel Ravasz (Most-Hid). According to Ravasz, managing the risks connected with the new coronavirus pandemic within the environment of marginalised Roma communities will be a priority task of his successor, Andrea Bučková.
Bučková has worked for the Government Proxy's Office in the past, in the capacity of director for development projects in 2012-16, when the Office was headed by current MEP and OLaNO expert on Roma issues Peter Pollak. Apart from these tenures, Buckova has also served at the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and the Family, where she dealt with projects aimed at non-discrimination and gender equality, at the Social Development Fund, and at the ministry's job centre.
