Government measures won't prevent tourism layoffs

The measures presented by the governing coalition on Sunday won't prevent layoffs in the tourism sector, according to the Slovak Hotels and Restaurants Association (AHRS), which estimates that nearly 68,000 employees are directly at risk. Hotels and restaurants have been closed for two weeks by government order. According to the association, 100 percent of accommodation facilities and more than 90 percent of catering facilities have no income at all, and the loss of revenues in tourism services can't be compensated as they can't declare deferred consumption.
