The European Anti-fraud Office (OLAF) has closed its investigation into the Agricultural Payment Agency (PPA) concerning direct payments, according to the Agriculture Ministry's press department as quoted by TASR press agency. "Following a detailed, almost 1.5-year investigation, the OLAF has confirmed the correct procedure of the Slovak Agricultural Payment Agency. We regret that some Slovak MEPs and members of the European Parliament expressed misleading and false statements about Slovakia and the PPA during last year's visit to Slovakia. As has been shown, the OLAF itself has confirmed the correctness of the PPA's procedure," said PPA director general Juraj Kozuch. According to the ministry, the OLAF has recently informed the Government Office of the completed investigation, related to direct payments provided within the EU's Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) to various business entities in Slovakia.
