State of emergency declared

The Government declared a state of emergency in the whole territory of Slovakia, as of 6 a.m. on Thursday. According to the Ministry of Interior, the state of emergency is a tool for faster acquisition of material that is necessary for first responders or for ensuring the protection of the population to limit the spread of coronavirus infection. As of Thursday morning, there are 16 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Slovakia.
If a person has symptoms of potential infection with coronavirus, they should contact their GP by phone or e-mail (not in person) or call 112 or 155, if contacting a GP is not possible. Home testing provided by a mobile collection unit may be available upon the decision of medical personnel.

Those who have questions about coronavirus can contact the public health services at 0800221234, 0917 222 682 or 0918 659 580 or via email at novykoronavirus@uvzsr.sk.
