A total of 48,925 Slovaks voted from abroad in the general election, out of 55,117 people, who applied for this option, indicate the data from the Slovak statistical Office. These figures represent historically highest turnout of voters from abroad in history of independent Slovakia.
As many as 33.3% of Slovaks living abroad voted for Progressive Slovakia-Together. For the People was the second most popular party among expatriates, having earned 27.11%. The third came Ordinary People Party with 14.11% ahead of Freedom and Solidarity with 8.75% followed by People's Party our Slovakia (4.52%), Christian Democrats (2.82%), Smer-SD (2.37%), Homeland (2,03%), We are Family (1,46%) and Hungarian Community Society (0.81%).
