The volume of housing loans in Slovakia has risen to €30.6 billion as of the beginning of 2020, official figures indicate. This number represents a year-on-year increase of €2.8 billion and month-on-month increase of €252.5 million. At the same time, the volume of building loans offered by home saving banks were down to €2.4 billion, having dropped by €2.2 million year on year and €12.1 million month on month.
In terms of the purchase of flats, in contrast with situation 10 years ago, people today prefer to purchase completely renovated ones into which they can move immediately, the TASR press agency pointed out.
