NBS: GDP to grow by 2.2 percent

A survey carried out by Slovakia's central bank (NBS) among commercial bank analysts in February has shown that GDP growth in fixed prices is estimated at 2.2 percent this year, while it should slow down to 2.1 percent next year. The bank analysts have not changed this year's growth estimate from the one made a month ago. As for next year, they slightly revised it upwards - by 0.2 percentage points (p.p.). According to the analysts, the unemployment rate should reach 5.9 percent this year. Nominal salaries should go up by 7.6 percent, while growth in employment should stand at 1.2 percent. Next year, growth in employment should equal 0.3 percent, while the unemployment rate should amount to 6 percent and nominal salaries should grow by 5 percent.
