The senate of the Specialised Criminal Court in Pezinok (Bratislava region) on Wednesday adjourned the proceedings in the case of the private TV channel Markiza's promissory notes and obstruction of justice until February 27. The senate did so after the closing speeches of the procedural parties. According to the Code of Criminal Procedure, the final statements of the defendants and a verdict should follow. The Prosecutor of the Special Prosecutor's Office Jan Santa has proposed that defendants in the case, the crooked businessman Marian Kočner and the former director of a private TV channel Pavol Rusko be imprisoned for 20 years for counterfeiting the promissory notes and obstructing justice.
