The Environment Ministry proposes setting up a Government Council for the European Green Agreement and Low-Carbon Transformation. According to the TASR press agency, the ministry has submitted materials with a proposal for the interdepartmental comments procedure. The council should address issues related to the vision of achieving sustainable development goals as well as the transition to a carbon-neutral economy by 2050 and the related introduction of measures and key policies. According to the proposal, the council will guarantee coordination and cooperation between the sectors concerned, local authorities, non-governmental and professional organisations. It will consist of 29 members. The prime minister will serve as chair of the council.
