A patient with suspected coronavirus was examined at the infectology and travel medicine ward of the Martin University Hospital, northern Slovakia, on Thursday. According to hospital spokeswoman Katarina Kapustova, the man did not meet the clinical and anamnestic epidemiological parameters for hospitalisation and was therefore recommended home treatment. "The patient returned from Malaysia at the end of January. Since he transited through Beijing during the return journey and had symptoms of acute respiratory disease a few days after his return, biological samples were taken from him and will be examined at the National Reference Centre in Bratislava," added Kapustova. Two Slovaks with suspected coronavirus were admitted to Martin hospital on January 30. Samples of biological material were taken but their tests proved negative. The men spent three weeks in China, about 1,300 kilometres from the epicentre of the coronavirus epidemic.
