The interests of Slovakia and the United States of America overlap in many areas. According to the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, emphasizing the need for EU-US strategic dialogue and striving to maintain the coherence of the transatlantic alliance are still among Slovakia's priorities in 2020. Transatlantic cooperation is perceived in Slovakia through a good bilateral cooperation with Canada as well. "The ideological proximity between Canada and the EU on the fundamental issues of transatlantic dialogue, including security and trade, contributes to improving cooperation," added the ministry.
