The Bratislava Water Company, which provides water supplies to Slovakia's capital, announced on Monday that it has filed a criminal complaint against an unknown perpetrator who poured several barrels of motor oil into the sewage system, potentially creating a crisis throughout the capital. "The contamination was so huge that if action hadn't been taken promptly, the plant would have been put out of operation for two weeks or perhaps even a month, resulting in a critical situation," said Bratislava Water Company director general Peter Olajoš, adding that this is the third such case within the past year.
