The Slovak Hauliers Union has lifted its blockade of border crossings, but it remains on alert, ready to resume it at any time. "We've had to terminate our protests at individual border crossings following police intervention," the Union wrote on a social network on Wednesday (January 29) evening, claiming that its talks with the Government had reached an impasse.
The Cabinet on Wednesday approved road-toll allowances for lorries from the very first kilometre, claiming that UNAS's demands of 25-percent allowances were unrealistic, as European legislation allows a maximum of 13 percent.
