In 2019, Slovakia recorded a 12% rise in the number of overnight stays in tourist facilities, representing the fastest growth among all the EU countries, indicate Eurostat's data. The EU's average reached 2.4%. However, when looking at overnight stays of foreign tourists only, Slovakia recorded the fourth fastest growth (8.4%) behind the UK (19.2 %), the Netherlands (10.6 %) and Lithuania (10 %). As the TASR press agency wrote, the number of overnight stays has been continuously growing since 2009.
