Last year more than 4 million tourists visited Slovakia, representing an increase of 7.3 percent in comparison to the previous year. It reached a record-breaking level for the second time in the history of Slovakia.
Traditionally, Czechs represented the biggest group of foreign tourists visiting Slovakia, followed by Poles and Germans. Nearly 60 percent of all visitors to the country were domestic tourists who continue to form the basis of Slovakia's tourism.
