At a joint press conference Peter Pellegrini also said that for the countries from which illegal migrants come and are unwilling to take them back from EU member countries, the provision of international and development aid should be suspended or limited. According to Pellegrini, there are still tens of thousands of migrants in the EU, who, according to the regulations in force, should return to their countries of origin. "To do this, we need the cooperation of these countries, and if we cannot enforce it through agreements, we should resort to measures and restrictions in the area of international and development aid," added the prime minister who also gave high marks to the unified position of the five prime ministers on migration.
