On Tuesday, President Zuzana Čaputová met with representatives of the police, fire and rescue services at the Presidential Palace as part of a New Year's reception, and thanked them for their work so far. In a meeting with representatives of self-governing associations, she stressed that strong self-governing regions are the best safeguard for democracy that a country can have. The Head of State expressed appreciation for the process of decentralization and development of Slovakia's self-governing regions.
