According to a new Labour Code amendment, employees under 33 with child custody are now entitled to 5 weeks of paid annual leave. However, the amendment that came into force on 1 January has already been under critique. "It discriminates against people without child custody," stated the Slovak National Centre for Human Rights and, according to The National Union of Employers, it will have a negative impact on Slovakia's business environment. The original law entitled all employees under 33 and older than 33 to four and five weeks of annual leave, respectively.
