The Specialized Criminal Court in Pezinok decided on Thursday to accept the indictment in the murder case of journalist Jan Kuciak and other deeds. The trial in the case will begin on January 13, 2020. A prosecutor from the Special Prosecutor's Office has indicted Tomas Szabo, Miroslav Marcek, Alena Zsuzsova and also Marian Kocner. All of them are being prosecuted in custody. In this case, charges were pressed for six crimes included the premeditated murders of Jan Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kusnirova and of the entrepreneur Peter Molnar from Kolarovo in 2016. If found guilty, the charged persons may be sentenced to 25 years in jail or life imprisonment. Another initially accused person, Zoltan Andrusko, was set aside for separate proceedings and is acting as a witness in the case. Around forty international journalists from media such as Reuters, AFP, the Wall Street Journal, or Suddeutsche Zeitung are watching the start of the trial.
