An additional subsidy for sports infrastructure and an increase in salaries for members of the Firefighter and Emergency Corps (HaZZ) and the Mountain Rescue Service (HZS) were among the items high on the agenda of the final Cabinet session of the year that took place on Wednesday. An additional €60 million is to be spent on modernising and constructing sports facilities in Slovakia between 2020-22. The Government will decide on the provision of the total subsidy, while contributions for specific projects will be determined by the Sports Support Fund. The salaries of firefighters and mountain rescue team members should go up by 10 percent as of next year so as to range between €690-1,826 per month, depending on years of experience.
