YouTuber ends up in custody

Unsuccessful presidential candidate and controversial YouTuber Martin Daňo, along with former fellow co-host and activist Rudolf Vaský, will remain in custody while being prosecuted out of concern that the duo might continue their potential criminal activities, the Bratislava Regional Court decided on Monday. The two men face charges of misconduct over their internet videos, with Daňo also being prosecuted for inciting violence and for tax fraud. The self-proclaimed journalists/activists spoke in their videos and on a radio talk show about beating several MPs and politicians to death with steel bars over suspicions of corruption. "From our point of view, this is a strict decision," stated their defence lawyer Marek Para, who also represents Marian Kočner in the murder case of journalist Ján Kuciak. Para refused to comment on the indictment, but pointed out that his clients often provide YouTube commentary on socially delicate issues.
