Following the results of the British general elections where the conservatives led by Boris Johnson won a majority, the UK leaving the EU is very likely. For Slovak citizens living in the UK or British citizens living in Slovakia, both the British government as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs offer guidance for people and businesses in the case of different Brexit scenarios. The set date for Brexit so far is 31 January 2020. After this date, a transitional period will begin, during which Britain will be governed by European regulations and will continue to have access to the common European market.
