In regards to the absorption of EU funds in the coming programming period, Slovakia has betted a large portion on highway construction, job creation, and greater promotion of research. Brussels approved for Slovakia approximately €15 billion which is to be used within seven years.
The highest amount (€4 billion) will be channelled into the completion of highways and the construction and repair of other roads; specifically into the completion of the highway connecting Bratislava and Košice, and connections in the regions of Kysuce and Orava.
