Both President Zuzana Čaputová and Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini have expressed their condolences to Czech President Miloš Zeman on Tuesday, following a shooting spree at a hospital in Ostrava that occurred earlier in the day. The shooting took place in the waiting room of the Ostrava university hospital and claimed the lives of six people, with several others severely injured. According to Czech police, the perpetrator fled the scene and was found three hours later, but shot himself in the head when police tried to apprehend him. "Mr. President, on behalf of the Slovak public as well as myself I express my sincere condolences to you and the families and relatives of the victims, and I wish a swift recovery to those injured," reads the telegram sent by Slovak President Čaputová to Czech President Zeman.
