An anniversary summit of challenges

Europe, Turkey and Canada will pledge $400 billion in defense spending by 2024 at the NATO summit starting on Tuesday in London, which is attended by a Slovak delegation led by President Zuzana Čaputová. According to the Reuters news agency, Eastern Europeans are considering whether to confront Turkish president Tayyip Erdogan for holding up approval of NATO military plans to defend the Baltics and Poland, if NATO does not recognize the groups he fights against in Syria as terrorists. Leaders will approve a new strategy to monitor China's growing military activity for the first time, and name space as a domain of warfare, along with air, land, sea and computer networks, Reuters news agency reports.
