Slovakia's share in the equity of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), designed to help Euro area countries in severe financial distress, will not change, according to a document approved by the Slovak Parliament on Wednesday. It is remain at the level of 0.8184% even after an update due to a correction of Malta's share as of 2020.
The ESM, set up in 2012 to replace the temporary European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF), established two years earlier, is one of the world's largest international financial institutions with a paid-in capital of more than €80 billion.
