Two judges to face disciplinary proceedings over Kočner chats

The Judicial Council is to launch disciplinary proceedings against two unspecified judges over their past encrypted chats with shady businessman Marian Kočner, now charged with ordering the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak. "Other names are also in the frame, of course. I think that it's about time to cease using the adjective 'alleged' when it comes to the encrypted chats," said the Council's special commission chairman Dušan Cimo. The commission in recent weeks questioned several judges who chatted directly with Kočner or were mentioned there. These included judges who saw their mobile phones seized by the police in August due to suspicion of corruption and abuse of public official's powers.
