The police raided the headquarters of state owned lottery company Tipos in Bratislava on Tuesday. "This was the initial stage of criminal proceedings, but we can't provide any more information on individual procedural steps," stated the police. The website aktuality.sk reported that the raid is part of an investigation into alleged money laundering and that Tipos head Jan Barczi is among those who have been detained. The Finance Ministry, which is the sole shareholder of the company, has issued a statement saying that for the time being it would not comment on the matter and it will wait for the results of the investigation from law enforcement agencies.
