Slovakia joins campaign to eliminate violence against women

Slovakia will join a global campaign involving 16 days of activism in support of eliminating violence against women, according to Viera Bottcher from the Institute for Labour and Family Research (IVPR), which launched the Stop Violence against Women campaign on Tuesday. "The campaign will be promoted via a social network, where the public will be able to place a thematic frame on their photos and share banners and facts about the plight of women who face violence," she said, adding that this has also been supported by President Zuzana Čaputová. "This is the first time that the Slovak head of state has expressed support for women who experience violence and acknowledged the work of non-governmental and public institutions seeking to eliminate violence from women's lives," noted Bottcher.
