Opposition member charged of endangering classified information

The National Criminal Agency (NAKA) charged Jaroslav Naď, former Defence Ministry employee and member of the opposition Ordinary People party of endangering classified information. Naď stated that he was not aware of having committed the crime, stating that he had only "asked a question" that had not been answered. He added that he would provide more information on Thursday after being questioned by NAKA. "I've learnt that the day I entered politics, all available as well as unavailable means were deployed to discredit me," he said, adding that various people have been trying to discredit him for at least a year. In reaction to the case, Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) called a session of the Slovak Security Council, which will take place on Friday.
